Land and Sea Park Adventures

Quess what, everybody? Maddy here, and we just went to the Land and Sea Park. It's a cool island and the second one I've been to. We woke up early from Eluthera and got prepared for the boat ride over to the island. It was a 2 hour ride. My mom, grandparents,Emmy, and I went up to the top deck and started the ride. There wasn't much to this ride. Emmy and I slept the whole way! When we awoke, we saw an island that looked like it was floating right on the blue water. We radio called the park warden and he gave us a mooring ball so we could tie the boat on to it. When we got there, we tried to go snorkeling, but it was too cold and too much of a current. We took the dingy [ small fishing boat ] to a little beach. It was hot and the water got a little warmer just enough to be relaxing. Then, we saw a trail. We were walking on the trail when we saw a little lizard and he had a curled tail.
We had seen a lot of these and we called them Curly Tails.  Next, we got back to the dingy and went to another beach and went through another trail called " Pirate's Lair Trail".  Why is it called Pirate's Lair? I wondered. I soon got my answer! We went through and there was a flat area and a hole full of water and a sign that said Pirate's Lair.

I read through it and it said that long ago, this flat area was a pirate's lair. They camped out here because there was a natural well full of fresh water. I walked over and saw that it was full of fresh water! We went back and went to another beach with a giant whale skeleton! As most of you know, I love whales!!! There was a sign that read '52 ft. sperm whale died in the 1980's because of swallowing plastic. Please don"t pollute ' If you are reading this, DON'T POLLUTE! There is a picture of me with the skeleton below.

It started getting dark, so we headed to our boat,.Let it Go, to have dinner. My grandpa had caught fresh yellow-fin tuna. It was "tuna-tastic!"
Then, we saw the stars. With no lights on, I saw a shooting star! I got a star finder from my teacher, Mrs. Soderstrom, but decided to make it the next day. I miss everybody so much for example, my class, my teacher, and the family that I live with.

Well, I've gotta get back to letting it go, so talk to you next tide!
